Breaking: 5th Mobile Parliament Impeach IYC President, Dcn Peter Igbifa Over Misuse Of Office
The President of the Ijaw Youth Council Worldwide, Comrade Deacon Peter Igbifa, has been impeached by the National Executive Council (NEC) of the 5th mobile parliament.
The impeachment was made during a plenary session on Sunday, in Otuagabi Community under Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
The impeachment process was followed by a motion moved by Comrade Ellington Bakumor and seconded by Comrade Vincent Kingdom, stressing the great need for the impeachment of the president.
The parliament impeached the president on grounds of abuse of power, misappropriation of funds, disrespect of legislative powers and executive rascality.
Speaker of the Parliament, Comrade Bob Collins Igetei announced the impeachment of the president following a unanimous vote by members of parliament.
The parliament further ordered for Dcn Peter Igbifa’s Deputy, Comrade Saviour Olali to assume as the Acting President of the Council.
The parliament further called for a national convention in no distant time not more than 72 hours.
