Nomination: Group Commends Gov. Diri, D-Gov Ewhrudjakpo, Others, Congratulates Mrs Alice Tangi
The Bayelsa Advocates For Good Governance (BAGG) has commended the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo for nominating Mrs Alice Allen Tangi as PDP Chairmanship Candidate in Sagbama Local Government Area.
The group made the commendation in a statement made known to newsmen of Hot News Reporters, described the nomination as a great welcome development and step in the right direction in strengthening gender equality in leadership and governance on the basis of merit.
Mrs Alice Allen Tangi’s nomination which came as a shock to many party members in the local government area and beyond, has created public commendation to the miracle and people’s Governor, Senator Douye Diri and his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.
The group while congratulating the PDP Chairmanship Candidate in Sagbama LGA Mrs Alice Allen Tangi, described her nomination by the Governor and his Deputy as reward for loyalty, commitment, consistency and dedication to the party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
“The Prosperity Government ably led by Senator Douye Diri and Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo has further proved the government’s commitment in selecting competent and capable hands in elective and appointive offices towards improving the welfare of the people of the state,” the group added.
The group while commending the unwavering loyalty, steadfastness and commitment of the chairmanship candidate to the PDP over the years, described Mrs Alice Tangi’s nomination/candidacy as a great step in the right direction in motivating other members of the party to be loyal and committed.
“Mrs Tangi’s nomination/candidacy has further proved the prosperity government’s commitment in rewarding loyal and committed members of the party with gender neutrality on the premise of merit, competence, experience as a government of service delivery.
The group stated that Mrs Alice Allen Tangi as Chairperson of Sagbama Local Government Council, will be a new dawn of leadership and governance in the local government area, by extension will strengthen the women support base of the party in the local government area basically.
The group while thanking the Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson for his leadership and elder statesman roles in the nomination process, described the federal lawmaker as a foresighted and visionary leader who played a neutral role to all aspirants.
While addressing propagandas of presumed imposition of candidate by the former Governor and Senator, the group issued a stern warning to party members to refrain from the dissemination of rumours and propagandas against leaders and stakeholders of the party in the local government area and beyond.
“The Ofuruma-Pepe has reiterated his leadership attributes of equality, neutrality, fairness and transparency to all party members regardless of political status or affiliation, creating a sense of belonging to all party members which is highly commendable,” the group added.
The group further appealed to other PDP chairmanship aspirants, and stakeholders of the party in the local government to embrace the decision of the party leadership and the prosperity government, perceiving the unity and growth of the party with utmost priority and importance.
“All chairmanship and councilorship candidates of the party across the state should work closely with all critical stakeholders of the party to ensure their landslide victory in the April local government council chairmanship and councilorship elections basically,” the group added.
