Mayor Of Yenagoa Visits Flood Affected Communities In Biseni Clan
The Executive Chairman of Yenagoa Local Government Council (Mayor of Yenagoa), Hon. Bulodisiye Ndiwari led a team to visit flood-impacted Communities in Biseni Clan to assess the level of impact caused by the flood in the Communities.
The Mayor of Yenagoa made this known through his official facebook handle, expressed great concern over the life-threatening challenges facing the people of the flood-impacted communities in the clan basically.
The council chairman during the visit to the flood-impacted communities, met with elderly men, women, youths to reiterate government’s support by encouraging them, and provided financial assistance, including food items as a temporal succour.
Considering the devastating effects of the flood in the clan, Hon. Ndiwari stressed the great need for local and national government agencies to address the immediate needs of flood-impacted communities in the area, as the situation is appalling.
Expressing concern over the state’s recurring flooding, he stressed the great need for proactive and sustainable approach to disaster management including infrastructure improvements in flood-prone areas.
The Yenagoa Council boss called on the Bayelsa State Government, NEMA, NDDC, NGOs, and multinational companies to swiftly provide essential relief materials and healthcare for displaced persons.
He called for additional resources from within and outside the state to strengthen flood management by developing lasting solutions and protection for vulnerable communities in Biseni Clan basically.
