Ondo Guber Election: Gov. Diri Urges Voters To Be Vigilant
Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Thursday, 14th November, 2024, joined other State Governors and PDP Executives to attend the grand finale of the party campaigns for the election of the party’s governorship candidate, H.E Agboola Ajayi in Akure, Ondo State.
The governor who joined the Acting National Chairman of the party, and other National Working Committee members including leaders of the party, urged the people of Ondo state to vote for the PDP and its governorship candidate in the Saturday governorship election.
Governor Diri appealed to electorates to ensure they protect their votes at the various polling units, wards and collation centres for a free, fair transparent and credible governorship election in the state.
“We don’t want to hear that we won, but we were rigged out. Somebody can only rig where he is popular.
“In every election, it is the people that matters. Power belongs to the people. Your oppressor won’t allow you go unless you decide to free yourself.
The state helmsman said this event has offered another opportunity to remind the electorates, particularly members and supporters of the PDP in the state, that the November 16 election is winnable if the people are ready and vigilant to protect their votes.
He called on the electoral body, the Independent National Electoral Commission and security operatives to conduct free, fair, transparent, credible and peaceful election on the Saturday governorship election.
