Nembe-Brass Rd: Diri Fulfilling Campaign Promises – Kolawole
The Director General of the Bayelsa Government New Media, Dr. Kolawole Oredipe, has commended the Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri and the Prosperity Government for the construction of the Nembe-Brass road project.

The state government media director made the commendation when he led a team of journalists and media aides of the government on the spot assessment of the level of progress made on the historic road project.
The management of Hot News as part of the team of journalists on the spot assessment of the road project, commended the state government and the construction company for the impressive progress made so far.

The long-awaited historical project, which had been on the drawing board of the federal government for decades, was commenced by the Governor Douye Diri administration due to its socio-economic importance to the state and beyond.
Recall that the current administration kick-started the Nembe-Brass road with the first phase of 21 kilometers with 10 bridges with an estimate of N54.1 billion, which was awarded to Setraco Nigeria Limited in 2022.

The Nembe-Brass road which is constructed under a difficult terrain, has made tremendous progress with the commencement of asphalting and completion of the first bridge out of the ten (10) bridges in the first phase of twenty one (21) kilometers.
About seven (7) kilometers out of the twenty one (21) kilometers of the first phase has been asphalted, and still advancing with the completion of the first bridge, and the second bridge under construction with sand filling progresses continuously.

The landmark project in the hearts of the good people of the two local government areas, has a three years duration of completion of the road project that will significantly enhance socio-economic activities in the impacted or benefiting communities, state and the country at large.
Impressively, ten (10) culverts has been constructed from point zero to the first bridge completed and the second bridge under construction with a long stretch asphalted and still advancing daily, as sand filling progresses to the 21 kilometers.
The road project which will enhance major significant socio-economic activities mostly in the region, will be completed within the stipulated time-frame agreed between the state government and the construction company for public use expectedly.
The New Media DG, Dr Kolawole called on sons and daughters of the Nembe and Brass extraction to continue their unwavering support for the governor and the prosperity government in order to attract more development to the region.
“Brass island has a lot of untapped economic opportunities which will be utilized under the ministry of the blue economy once this historical road project is timely completed and commissioned for public use.
He urged residents to continue to maintain peace and unity, creating an enabling environment to ensure the timely completion of the road project which will attract domestic and foreign investment to the region.
