Otita Force Condemns Phrase, “Nembe Is A Community Without Champions”
The National Coordinator and Leader of the Otita Transformation Movement popularly known as Otita Force Worldwide, Hon. Prince Gabriel Jonah, has condemned in strong terms of a phrase that Nembe is a Community without champions.
In a statement issued by his Media Assistant, Deacon Tari Agai, the Otita Force national leader described the common phrase, “Nembe Olotu Fa Ama” which means, Nembe is a community without champions, as a negative and destructive statement that is affecting the growth and development of the community.
The Otita Force National Coordinator, Hon. Gabriel Jonah said the commonly used phrase, has spiritual implications which is detrimental, and limiting the peace, unity, stability, progress and development of the community in the past decades.
Jonah who made this known at the memorial celebration of grandparents in Nembe City, praised his elder brother, His Excellency, Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John Jonah (Rtd), former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, for his tremendous leadership roles in the Jonah’s family.
He said a champion is someone who is an achiever, defender, supporter and winner, that goes out to attract growth and development to the people, noting that who will champion the course of the community, and bear certain burdens if there are no champions.
The leader of the prestigious group stated that the Jonah’s family have enjoyed strong bond of unity, peace for the fact that there is a champion who have being strongly supporting, defending, inspiring members of the family due to the roles of Gboribiogha John over the years.
Gabriel Jonah said the former deputy governor has evidently played key roles in the lives of the Nembe people, adding that his father who also played leadership roles in the family, handed over the mantle of leadership to Gboribiogha John since the death of his father over the years.
He urged the people of Nembe City to identify emerging champions in every field of endeavor, and give them the necessary support to compete with their counterparts anywhere in the world, and not labelling the community as a community without champions.
The Otita Force national coordinator noted that the wrongly phrase is capable of limiting the potentials of talented and promising youths who are champions in their various careers and specializations.
Jonah used the opportunity to urge youths of Nembe City to always have the mentality of being champions, stressing that the community is the home of champions which should be promoted and projected as champions in various fields and specialisations at all times.
He urged the people of Nembe City to continue to preach peace and unity as one indivisible people, adding that his service to the people is not limited to Otitans, but all sons and daughters of Nembe City and beyond towards uniting the Nembe Kingdom for sustained peace.
