Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, has congratulated his younger brother, Dr. Moses Oruaze Dickson on his graduation as Doctor of Philosophy.
Hot News gathered that Dr. Oruaze who graduated from the prestigious University of Bradford in the United Kingdom, presented his Doctorate Degree Certificate to his older brother whom he calls his father.
Dr. Oruaze presented his doctorate degree certificate to Senator Dickson at his residence in Toru-Orua community, Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.
Dickson through his official facebook handle made the congratulatory message known, said Dr. Oruaze is like a son to him as he officially presents the doctorate degree certificate to him at his residence.
He congratulated Dr. Oruaze on behalf of the family, said he is the first Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) holder in the family, stressing that Dr. Oruaze who is a like a son to him has fulfilled his father’s desire to be a doctorate degree holder in the family.
The statement read in parts: “Today, it was a pleasure that my younger brother, who is like my first son, Dr. Moses Oruaze Dickson, officially presented his PhD. degree to me.
“I congratulated him on behalf of our family and said that while the event may look ordinary to most people, it is significant for two reasons: firstly, he is the first PhD. holder in our family, and secondly, for me, it is fulfilling because he, like a son, has done what his father would have loved to do but could not.
“So, in a way, he has done it on my behalf. I congratulated him and reminded him what I have always told him for years, that he should go to the depth of the sea and fish; that he should learn to fish in deep waters, and not to be fishing with the crowd in shallow waters looking for small fishes and crayfish.
“With this Ph.D, he should go out to the world and conquer in the field of Academics and Legal practice. I expect him to use this as a stepping stone to become a Professor in no distant time, or a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), both of which he is capable of.
“I congratulate him and wish him God’s guidance and blessings in his endeavours. I hope that he continues to uphold the family ideals of hard work, honour, courage and service. I congratulate him and his family.
