Diri Approves Construction Of Mini Stadium, Road Proj.

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, has approved the construction of a five thousand (5,000) seater Mini Stadium in Sampou Community under Kolokuma-Opokuma Local Government Area of the State.
Governor Diri made the approval for the construction of the mini stadium at a cost of N18.9 billion to enhance sporting activities in the state, with a 24-months duration of completion.
The state helmsman also graciously approved the construction of Okumbiri-Eriama-Adagbabiri road, Ogbosuware-Egbemo-Angalabiri road and Agbere-Abuetor-Elemebiri road to improve socio-economic activities in the communities and environs.
According to the Commissioner for Information, Orientation and Strategy, Mrs Ebiuwou Koku-Obiyai, the Governor, Senator Douye Diri made the approvals during the 176th State Executive Council meeting in Government House, Yenagoa.
Mrs Koku-Obiyai said the 18.7km Agbere-Abuetor-Osifo-Asamabiri-Elemebiri road project, will be constructed at a cost of N110 billion at 60-40 percent counterpart funding between the Bayelsa State Government and the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC).
The information and orientation commissioner quoting the governor, said the mini stadium and the road projects were approved as strategic steps of the state government to further improving the sport sector and road network across the state.
