Military Officers Discovers Illegal Refined Petroleum Products In Rivers

Military officers under Joint Task Force South-South, Operation Delta Safe (OPDS), have uncovered 3,250 litres of illegally refined petroleum products during an anti-illegal bunkering operation in Eleme Local Government Area of River State.

Hotnews gathered that the discovery of the illegal refined petroleum products, was made known in a post on X by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency and security expert in Lake Chad region of the State.

Makama, citing security sources, said the discovery was made on the 20th of April, 2026, by military officers of LCSF MST 1/2 along Refinery Road in Eleme axis.

They added that ongoing anti-illegal bunkering operations were being intensified across the Niger Delta region to curb economic sabotage and protect critical national assets.
