Okenema Resigns As Diri’s Technical Adviser, Eyes Ogbia Constituency One Seat

A grassroots politician in Ogbia Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. Prince Okenema, has resigned his appointment as Technical Adviser to the Bayelsa State Governor on Special Duties.

His resignation was contained in a letter addressed to Governor Douye Diri and submitted today in Yenagoa, the state capital.

Okenema stated that though the decision to step down was not taken lightly, it was necessary to focus on his future aspirations.

“Please accept this letter as a formal notice of my resignation as Technical Adviser on Special Duties.

“This decision was not made lightly, however I find it necessary to step down in order to focus on my future aspirations.

“I am grateful for the opportunities and support provided during my time in office. The experience and knowledge I have garnered have been invaluable,” the letter read in part.

Okenema wished the government and the state “continued growth in all sectors” as he steps aside to pursue other objectives.

Sources close to the popular youth leader told our correspondent that he is interested in contesting for the Ogbia Constituency I seat in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly.
