Bayelsa Govt House Appointees Plotting Against Dickson’s Reelection – Group Alleges
Bayelsa West PDP Elders Forum has accused government house political appointees of the Prosperity administration of Governor Douye Diri and his Deputy, Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, of plotting against the reelection of the Senator representing Bayelsa West, Henry Seriake Dickson in the forthcoming February 2023 general election.
In a statement by the group spokesman, Chief Allen Douye made this known while addressing some newsmen in Yenagoa, the state capital.
Douye described the plot against Dickson’s reelection as an act of ingratitude considering the people involved, stressing that these are people who held sensitive offices during Dickson’s reign as governor, and still claims to be loyalists of the former governor while secretly working against the reelection of serving senator.
“The Acting Chief of Staff, Hon. Peter Akpe, the Special Adviser on Political Matters, Chief Collins Cocodia, the Director of Transportation, Hon. Lucky Youbugha, the Director of Domestic, Barr Sambo Jumbo, are the key people who are plotting against Dickson’s reelection in the 2023 general election.
Douye stated categorically that these government house appointees of the prosperity administration worked tirelessly and relentlessly to do everything possible to ensure that Dickson doesn’t get the PDP senatorial ticket before and during the party primary elections which was conducted few months ago.
“Akpe, Cocodia and Youbugha are secretly working with the current house of representatives member in sagbama-ekeremor federal constituency, Hon. Fredrick Agbedi, and house of assembly candidates in Ekeremor local government area to ensure that Dickson fail woefully in the 2023 general election.
Douye further revealed that Akpe and Cocodia are bitterly angry with the former governor and serving senator for the fact that they had house of representatives ambition in sagbama-ekeremor federal constituency, stressing that Dickson’s senatorial ambition deprived them from contesting.
“They sponsored the misleading claims of the former governor been responsible for resignations and defections of critical stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party to the Social Democratic Party in the State, with the motive of causing disunity between Governor Douye Diri and his predecessor, Henry Seriake Dickson.
Douye advised Dickson to be very mindful of these people while relating with them, stressing that they are working tirelessly to ensure that he is not reelected into office in the 2023 general election, with the motive to retire him from active politics as a political stakeholder in the State.
