Who’s Who In Nigeria Grace Diri’s Daughter’s Marriage

The traditional marriage of Governor Douye Diri’s first daughter, Dr. Stephanie Ebidenere Diri, to Ballad Tamaradoubra Agbeyei, attracted a gathering of prominent personalities at the Governor’s Sampou country home in Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area of Bayelsa State on Saturday.

Hotnews gathered that the colourful ceremony was attended by former First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan; Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Kwara State Governor, Engr. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who chaired the occasion; and Delta State Governor, Elder Sheriff Oborevwori.

Also present were the wives of the Kwara and Delta governors, Prof. Olufunke AbdulRazaq and Deaconess Tobore Oborevwori, alongside the first ladies of Jigawa, Nasarawa, Kaduna, Katsina, Kebbi and Taraba states. Edo and Benue states were represented by coordinators of their first ladies’ offices.

Governor Diri, accompanied by his first wife and mother of the bride, Dr. Gloria Diri, prayed for God’s blessings upon the couple, urging them to nurture their relationship with love, understanding and commitment to God.

“There is no perfect marriage. So strive to love each other and commit your marriage to God at all times,” Governor Diri advised.

Governor AbdulRazaq congratulated the couple and encouraged them to always seek God’s guidance in resolving challenges, stressing that God should remain the cornerstone of their marriage.

The ceremony also attracted other dignitaries, including Angola’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Dr. José Bamóquina Zau; Minister of State for Petroleum Resources (Oil), Dr. Heineken Lokpobiri; former Rivers State Governor, Sir Celestine Omehia; former Bayelsa deputy governors, Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi and Rear Admiral Gboribiogha John-Jonah; and Mrs. Margaret Alamieyeseigha.

National and state lawmakers, traditional rulers, top government officials, captains of industry, security chiefs, religious leaders and other prominent Bayelsans also graced the occasion.

Among them were NDDC Managing Director, Dr. Samuel Ogbuku; former NDDC Managing Director, Chief Ndutimi Alaibe; former Presidential Adviser on Niger Delta, Dr. Kingsley Kuku; Head of Service of the Federation, Dame Didi Walson-Jack; retired Supreme Court Justice and Pere of Tuomo Kingdom, Justice Francis Tabai; and former PDP National Chairman, Prince Uche Secondus.

The gathering underscored the broad goodwill and support surrounding the union as family, friends, political leaders and well-wishers joined the Diri family to celebrate the couple.
