Hotnews reports that Governor Diri, in a goodwill message marking the historic occasions, described October as a significant month for reflection, thanksgiving and renewed commitment to the ideals of nation-building, peace, unity and sustainable development.
The Governor congratulated Bayelsans on the 30th anniversary of the creation of the state, noting that the milestone provides an opportunity for the people to reflect on the journey of the state over the past three decades, and celebrate its achievements with renewed commitment to building a greater and more prosperous Bayelsa State.

He congratulated the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, on the auspicious occasion, and extended his best wishes to members of the National Assembly, state governors, public servants and Nigerians across the country.
The Governor called for renewed patriotism, peaceful coexistence and collective responsibility among Nigerians, stressing the importance of working together to advance the country’s development and strengthen national unity.
According to him, the triple celebration makes October 1 particularly significant for Bayelsans and Nigerians, as it combines the beginning of a new month with two important milestones: the 30th anniversary of Bayelsa State and the 66th anniversary of Nigeria’s independence.
Governor Diri urged citizens to use the occasion to appreciate the sacrifices of past leaders and citizens who contributed to the creation and development of Bayelsa State and the Nigerian nation, while also looking forward to a future anchored on peace, justice, equity, progress and shared prosperity.
He expressed optimism that Bayelsa would continue to make meaningful contributions to the growth and development of Nigeria, particularly through its human capital, natural resources, cultural heritage and strategic importance to the nation.
