2023 Bayelsa Guber Race: Lyon Begins Consultations With Elder Statesmen, Leaders, Stakeholders To Solicit For Support

The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2019 Bayelsa Gubernatorial election, David Lyon begins consultation with leaders, stakeholders, elder statesmen, youth and women bodies beyond party affiliation to solicit for support towards the 2023 bayelsa gubernatorial election.

Recall that the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC had released the timetable for the 2023 bayelsa gubernatorial election, which is slated to hold on the 11th of November, 2023.

Party primaries will be held from 27th of March to 17th of April, 2023. While the online portal for the submission of nomination forms (EC9 and EC9B) by political parties will commence on the 24th of April, 2023, and closes on the 5th of May, 2023.

The INEC timetable further indicates that the final list of candidates will be published on the 9th of June, 2023, while campaigns by political parties will commence on the 14th of June, 2023, and ends on the 9th of November, 2023.

Hot news gathered that the former governorship candidate of the contending opposition party in bayelsa state, the APC has been meeting with political gladiators beyond party affiliations in bid to solicit for their support in the forthcoming bayelsa gubernatorial election.

A source revealed that the APC former governorship candidate, David Lyon has gotten the blessing of the APC National Chairman, Senator Abdullahi Adamu and the Party Presidential Candidate, Bola Tinubu, to be given the party governorship ticket to battle with the ruling party in the state, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the general election.

It is no longer rumor that the former governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress, David Lyon is making all the necessary preparations to clinch the party governorship ticket, and proceed to battle the seating Governor, Senator Douye Diri in the general election.
