2023: Massive Defection Hits The PDP In Isoni Community, As Over 100 PDP Members Dump The Party To Join The APC
A grassroot politician from Isoni Community in Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. Pere Abraham and over one hundred members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has defected to the All Progressives Congress (APC), due to neglect and abandonment by the party and the leadership in the State over the years.
The defectors were overwhelmingly received by the Sagbama Local Government APC Chairman, Hon.Tariladei Jonah Abeke, the APC Bayelsa State House of Assembly Candidate in Sagbama Constituency ||, Engr Highlife Humphrey Peremobowei, and other Local Government and Ward Executives plus supporters of the APC from Sagbama Local Government Area were in attendance.
Mr Abraham in his speech stated that he was tired of supporting the PDP as a political party which doesn’t value and reward committed party members despite the fact that the party has been in power since the practice of a democratic system of government in 1999, stressing that the people of Isoni Community haven’t experienced any form of infrastructural project, human capital development and empowerment programmes for the past decades.
He added that the good people of Isoni Community had been neglected and sidelined in the scheme of things from the PDP and the leadership of the party despite the votes to the party in every electioneering process over the years.
The Sagbama Local Government APC Chairman, Hon. Tariladei Abeke Jonah in his speech appreciated, Mr Pere Abraham and his followers for coming out in numbers for taking the bold step to join the APC as their new political family, which is a great step in the right direction.
The APC Candidate in Sagbama Constituency ||, Engr Humphrey Highlife Peremobowei stated that the defectors joined the APC at the right time which is a great step in the direction, stressing that they will be involved in his campaign structure to ensure his victory in the forthcoming general election.
He further solicited for the support of the good people of Isoni Community in the forthcoming general election to ensure his victory, adding that he will attract meaningful developmental projects to the community when elected into office.
The CDC Chairman of Isoni Community, Comr Victor Akpos appealed to the house of assembly candidate, Engr Highlife to consider Isoni in his developmental projects and human capital development programmes when elected into office in the forthcoming general election.
He further assured the house of assembly candidate of the community full support to vote massively to ensure that he is elected into the bayelsa state house of assembly in the forthcoming general election.
