A caucus member of the Governor Douye Diri led Prosperity Government has revealed their position to some APC leaders in the state that, after the courtesy visit of the former governor and Diri’s benefactor, Sen. Henry Seriake to Sampou Community a few days ago.

The member who choose to remain anonymous, also revealed that leaders of the Diri camp are currently lobbying APC leaders in the state to work with the present administration to guarantee a second term bid, as there are concerns that the kind of parables the former Governor Seriake Dickson reeled out in his recent visit to Sampou community, were weighty and did not go down well with many prosperity champions.

The former Governor, who spoke in Ijaw language expressed displeasure in the way and manner the Kolokuma/Opukuma people over three years have divided the people that stood by him and even laboured to install their son, Gov. Diri.

In his parable, Sen. Dickson likened the Diri led government to a hunter who in his hunting expedition ought to take note of the tracks so he can find his way back. He equally mentioned that a good hunter has a fair knowledge and understanding of the signs and signals nature has provided to guide.

The member mentioned that rather than taking note and working to make amends considering the political battles ahead, the Governor and his aides have decided to fight stating that the Kolokuma/Opokuma people can not and will never be intimidated by anyone and in any form.

He revealed that plans by the government to fight his predecessor has been on the burner since he assumed office and they purpose to begin by dropping and sidelining all appointees and politicians in the state that are affiliated in any way to senator Seriake Dickson.

A few weeks back on social media, the former governor was seen being escorted round Nembe by the leader of the Otita force, Chief Gabriel Jonah and recently also seen exchanging pleasantries with the winner of the last Governorship elections which the courts upturned, Chief David Lyon in a burial ceremony at Adagbabiri community and this has generated speculations as to whether ‘the Ofurumapepe’ will still support his successor.

Out of what appears like fear, Governor Diri at the event in Sampou, for the first time suddenly and publicly made an announcement dispelling the news making rounds since the first year of his government, the intention to drop his deputy, Sen. Ewhrudjakpor for another describing him as a resourceful and workaholic deputy who will be running with him for the second term.

As the political season advances coupled with the low performance rating of Gov. Diri in all sectors, Bayelsans seem to be ready to vote him out.

The prayer in the APC is for Gov.Diri to emerge again as the PDP governorship flag bearer so that David Lyon can with ease reclaim his victory.
