The Presidential Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar has encountered a major setback in his presidential ambition, as party members are directed to vote for the Labour Party Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi on Saturday.

Leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State on Wednesday in a closed door stakeholders meeting with party agents gave the directive to all party agents and members to vote for the labour party presidential candidate.

The PDP ward and unit agents who prefer to be anonymous disclosed to newsmen of hotnews that the meeting was attended by top former and present high-ranking leaders and stakeholders of the party in the state, which lasted for few hours.

The anonymous PDP agents further disclosed that critical leaders and stakeholders of the party in the state are not in support of the party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar because of the role he played against the party in the 2015 presidential election.

Recall that the PDP Presidential Candidate, Atiku Abubakar in 2015 made an impossible demand from the party and the then President, Goodluck Jonathan to handover the party presidential ticket to him to contest the 2015 presidential election.

The refusal of PDP leaders and the then President, Goodluck Jonathan to handover the party presidential ticket to Atiku Abubakar led to the defection of Atiku Abubakar from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) in 2015.

The PDP stakeholders directive to party agents to vote for the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi against the party presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar is undoubtably a retaliation to Atiku Abubakar’s actions in the 2015 presidential election.

The PDP agents in response assured the party leaders and stakeholders in the state of total compliance with the directive to ensure that party members in every polling unit across the state work against the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar on Saturday.

The political gimmicks are getting more interesting in different states across the country, as the presidential and national assembly elections holds in the next two days.
