Korean Trip Aimed At Agric Devt In Bayelsa – Prof. Beke Sese

Bayelsa State Commissioner For Agriculture and Natural Resources, Prof. Beke Sese has reiterated the state government’s unwavering efforts and commitment in improving the agricultural sector to enhance agricultural produce in the state.

hotnewsng.org reports that the honorable commissioner made this known while briefing state executive council members during the 134th State Executive Council meeting in Government House, Yenagoa.

“The Bayelsa State Government is relentlessly working on modalities to improve the agricultural sector in the state, through the partnership of the Korean Government.

Prof. Beke stated that the recent ten days working visit of the state government to Seoul, South Korea under the Korean International Corporation Agency, was under the sponsorship of the Korean Government as partners basically.

The Bayelsa state government has a partnership agreement with the Korean government to supply high quality rice seedlings, including tractors to facilitate agricultural activities to enhance food production in the state.

“The Korean government will further send some of their personnel to the state to train our engineers on how to use and manage the tractors for effective performance, productivity and longevity.

Prof. Beke stated it in clear terms that the partnership between the two governments was made possible, due to the personal relationship between the Bayelsa Governor and the former Korean Ambassador to Nigeria, over the years basically.

He added that the state government will leave no stone unturn to ensure that the requisite impact on the people is made through this prospective partnership with the Korean government.
