Dickson Attends Parliamentary Conference On Ecology, Climate Change In Baku

Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson attends inter-parliamentary conferences of African Countries in Baku.

The former Governor and Senator made this known through his official facebook handle, described the inter-parliamentary conferences as steps towards addressing challenges of ecology and climate change.

Senator Dickson as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ecology and Climate Change and the head of the parliamentary delegation of Nigeria, were engaged with other African and developing economies on the need for greater funding on climate change.

The inter-parliamentary conference was initiated as an avenue to discuss pertinent issues towards addressing challenges of ecology and climate change in the African continent and inter-related economies and beyond.

The statement read in parts: “In the past one week, I have being in Türkiye attending inter-parliamentary conferences of African countries.

“I am currently at the COP29 in Baku, Azerbaijan as Chairman of the Senate Committee on Ecology and Climate Change and head of the parliamentary delegation from Nigeria.

“We were engaged with other African and developing economies on the need for greater funding and support to aid in combating the effect of climate change that is ravaging our people and communities.
