Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan in trouble, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has confirmed it will move forward with her recall process.
This comes after representatives of the petitioners submitted the complete contact details required to advance the procedure.
In a statement on Tuesday, INEC disclosed that it has formally notified Senator Natasha and the Senate President, Godswill Akpabio, of the development.
According to the Commission, the next step in the process is to meticulously scrutinize the list of signatories submitted by the petitioners to verify that the recall petition has been endorsed by more than 50% of the registered voters in the Kogi Central Senatorial District.
INEC further stated that the verification process will be conducted transparently in line with constitutional provisions and its established guidelines.
The unfolding situation marks a significant twist in the political journey of Senator Natasha, who has faced increasing public scrutiny in recent months.
The recall process, if validated, could set the stage for a major political showdown in Kogi State before the 2027 general elections.
