New Year: Gov. Diri Receives Lokpobiri, Ogbuku, Others

The Executive Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, received the Honorable Minister of State For Petroleum Resources (Oil), Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, Ph.D, and Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Chief Samuel Ogbuku, Ph.D.

Hot News reports that Governor Diri, who received the honorable minister and managing director on Thursday, 1st January, 2026, at his country home in Sampou, expressed his deep gratitude to them for the new year visit of brotherhood and friendship.

The new year visit created avenue for the Governor and the visitors, whom he described as brothers and friends, to have a robust discussion on continuous partnership between the Bayelsa state government and the offices of the federal appointees.

The state helmsman, expressed his profound gratitude to Sen. Lokpobiri and Chief Ogbuku for their support and commitment in partnering with the government towards building a better Bayelsa of sustainable growth and development for the citizens.

The statement read in parts:

“I received my brothers, the Honourable Minister of State for Petroleum (oil), Sen Heineken Lokpobiri and the Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, at my country home, Sampou, for a New Year visit.
