Dickson Receives Ijaw Federal Civil Servants Over Ewhrudjakpo’s Death
The Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake, received high-powered delegation of Ijaw directorate-level officers in the federal civil service over the passing of Bayelsa Deputy Governor, Senator E-Lawrenzi.
Hot News reports the condolence visit of the high-powered delegation, held on Tuesday, 6th January, 2026, at the Abuja residence of the federal lawmaker, was to sympathize with him and his family over the death of the Bayelsa number two man.
Senator Dickson, who also received a high-powered delegation of federal civil servants from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, expressed profound gratitude to them for the condolence visit.
Urging the delegation to be part of the funeral, he encouraged them to also condole with the Ewhrudjakpo’s family, particularly the wife and children, including the Bayelsa state government for the great loss.
The federal lawmaker prayed to God for the state, Ijaw nation, or anyone never to experience such tragedy in the year 2026, and beyond.
The statement read in parts:
“I received a large delegation of Ijaw Directorate-level officers in the Federal Civil Service, as well as another team from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, both of whom paid condolence visits over the death of E-Lawrenzi.
“I was glad to see that this body of Senior Ijaw Federal Civil Servants, which I encouraged a few years ago, is growing from strength to strength.
“I thanked them for the visit and pledged to convey their condolences to the family, particularly the wife and children of E-Lawrenzi.
“I also encouraged them to condole with the government of the state and, for those who can, to be part of the funeral, as this is the first time our state is experiencing such a tragedy.
“We all pray that such tragedy will not befall our state, the Ijaw nation, or any of us again. As 2026 is a new year, we pray that the tragedy that came in 2025 has gone with it, and that 2026 will be better for all and for the entire Ijaw nation.
“I also informed the Directors of my desire to host them again later in the first quarter of the year, after the funeral.
