Diri Receives Bayelsa APC NASS Candidates As They Receive INEC Certificates

Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Monday received the eight National Assembly candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in his office as they formally presented their Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) certificates of nomination for the general elections.

Hotnews reports that the visit marked the official presentation of the party’s candidates who emerged victorious during the APC primaries in the State, and have received their certificates of nomination from the independent national electoral commission.

The delegation comprised the party’s three senatorial candidates and five House of Representatives candidates representing the various federal constituencies in Bayelsa State.

Party candidates who presented their certificates of nomination includes Senator Konbowei Friday Benson, Candidate for Bayelsa Central Senatorial District; Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, Candidate for Bayelsa East Senatorial District; and High Chief Fidelis Agbiki, Candidate for Bayelsa West Senatorial District.

Also present were the House of Representatives candidates: Hon. Obuku Abonsizibe Oforji for Yenagoa/Kolokuma/Opokuma, Hon. Rodney Ebikebina Ambaiowei for Southern-Ijaw, Hon. Benard Sunday Kenebai for Sagbama/Ekeremor, Chief Jude Rex-Ogbuku for Ogbia, and Hon. Jonathan Robinson Obuebite for Brass/Nembe.

Addressing the candidates, Governor Diri congratulated them once again on their successful emergence during the party’s primaries, describing their nomination as a testament to the confidence reposed in them by party members.

The Governor expressed optimism that the APC candidates would emerge victorious in the 2027 general election, urging them to remain focused, united, and committed to engaging with the electorate across their respective constituencies.

He emphasized the importance of sustaining the party’s momentum through grassroots mobilization, effective campaigns, and continued service to the people of Bayelsa State.

The presentation of the INEC certificates is regarded as a significant milestone in the electoral process, officially confirming the candidates’ participation in the forthcoming general election and signaling the commencement of intensified political activities ahead of the 2027 polls.

The APC candidates appreciated Governor Diri for receiving them and reaffirmed their commitment to delivering victory for the party across the state’s three senatorial districts and five federal constituencies.

They unanimously pledged to run issue-based campaigns, and work collectively to strengthen the APC’s electoral victories in the general elections in Bayelsa State.
