The emergence of the Member representing Ekeremor Constituency two in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha, as the Flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress in Bayelsa West Senatorial District caused a huge damage to the Party resulting to aggrieved members and defections in the Party.

Wilson candidacy as the APC senatorial candidate in Bayelsa West resulted to the decamping of some members and supporters in the senatorial district immediately after the party primary elections, with reasons that the party flag-bearer is a joker considering his political antecedents and poor performance as house of assembly member.

Wilson Dauyegha and the leadership of the APC in Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva connived with the State Party Chairman, Dennis Otiotio compromised the party senatorial ticket to be given to the joker who can’t win his own ward election, instead of giving to a generally accepted aspirant, Robinson Etolor who was the preferred candidate of the caucus forum.

The honourable minister of state for petroleum resources, Timipre Sylva with the support of the party chairman, Dennis Otiotio gave the party ticket to the state house of assembly member, Wilson Dauyegha fully knowing well that he cannot win the election in order for the party ticket to be sold out to the senator representing the senatorial district, Henry Seriake Dickson on a platter of gold.

The Bayelsa West Caucus Forum headed by Senator, John Kojo Brambaifa, Godbless Micah and other stakeholders conducted internal party screening for state and national assembly candidates, then recommended Robinson Etolor who is generally accepted and grassrooted aspirant, but to the shock of the party members the accepted aspirant was dropped for a political business man.

The emergence of the house of assembly member discouraged the likes of Peremobowei Ebebi, Heineken Lokpobiri, John Kojo Brambaifa, Yekini Nabena, Ofoni Williams, Francis Kolokolo, Tangi Samuel and other stakeholders in the senatorial district fully knowing well that the candidate is a political business man which his candidacy has been paid with millions of naira before the election day.

It will be a landslide victory for the opposition party senatorial candidate, Henry Seriake Dickson who is a two-time governor and senator representing the senatorial district with a political record of leaving no stone unturned in electioneering processes with an undefeatable track record, and the aggrievedness of APC stakeholders and supporters in the senatorial district.

APC members in Bayelsa West has resolved to massively support and work with the party house of representatives candidate in the Federal Constituency, Michael Olomu whom the people at the grassroot has thrown their weight behind him as the most preferred and acceptable candidate in the general election as a result of his good political antecedents.

“You cannot bring a bad candidate and expect the people to labour in vain. All the APC stakeholders in the senatorial district has taken a stand on this. Wilson cannot even win his own ward election, but decided to waste this golden opportunity of the party to clinch victory in the general election.

The appropriate authority to be blamed for the whole situation, is the leader of the APC in Bayelsa State, Timipre Sylva who deprived Robinson Etolor the party ticket after the caucus forum recommendation with the single thought that he is close to David Lyon, and his loyalty to the party lies with David Lyon and no one else.

Considering the circumference surrounding the whole situation, it is better to support the undefeatable opposition party, the PDP senatorial candidate, Henry Seriake Dickson to get landslide victory in the general election, rather than supporting a candidate that has a vacuum of failure as a result of his emergence and negotiations with the opposition party.
