APC South-South Executives And Bayelsa State Stakeholders Meeting.

South-South Executives of the All Progressives Congress (APC), ably led by the Zonal Vice Chairman, Hon. Victor Giadom and Bayelsa State Stakeholders ably led by the State Leader, Chief Timipre Sylva, held a crucial meeting to discuss critical issues towards the growth and development of the party, at the state party secretariat Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

There is a great need for party leaders, stakeholders to meet and chat the way forward towards building a stronger and more formidable united party structure at various level across the State, as the 2023 general elections draws closer.

The State Chairman, Barr Dennis Otiotio in his speech acknowledged every party leaders, stakeholders and supporters in attendance by thanking them for honoring the invitation to be in attendance to discuss critical issues towards the growth and development of the party, mostly galvanizing massive support base to party candidates in the general election.

He added by appreciating the tremendous relentless efforts and contributions of the leader of the party, Chief Sylva towards the growth and development of the party over the years, stressing that he has made laudable achievements in the petroleum industry since assumption in office, which is highly commendable.

The South-South Vice Chairman, Hon. Victor Giadom in his speech described the leader of the party in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva as the most performing minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria under the President Muhammadu Buhari led Federal Government.

He added by appreciating the state party chairman and its state executives, members of the national assembly, members of the state assembly, and other stakeholders of the party in attendance for the stakeholders meeting to discuss the way forward towards the growth and development of the party.

He further stated that the primary objective of the party stakeholders meeting, is to hear from party members to know their challenges in the state and put in place the necessary measures to ensure that all party candidates from the state, national assembly and the presidency are victorious in the forthcoming 2023 general election.

The Leader of the Party; who is the Honourable Minister of State For Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva appreciated all attendees comprising of party stakeholders from various Local Government Areas across the State, in order to deliberate on issues towards the success of party candidates from the state assembly to the presidency in the forthcoming general elections.

He stated categorically that the new slogan of the party is, operation takeover, stressing that the party will win all the state house of assembly elections, the national assembly elections and the presidency including the gubernatorial election come 2023.

Sylva urged every party leaders, stakeholders to embrace peace and unity at this point in time, perceiving the growth and development of the party as the utmost priority letting go of individual grievances and differences placing the interest of the party first, which will be the best right in the right direction.

He further narrated the ugly circumstance of the supreme court ruling which greatly affected party leaders, stakeholders and supporters at various level across the State, stressing that lives were lost, people were hospitalized, some people fainted while some people fell sick for weeks and months.

“All of us were greatly affected by the supreme court ruling against the party, and no one should feel only he or she was affected by the unfortunate incident. It is time for us to let go of the past and move on towards building a stronger and more formidable party structure which will be geard towards the growth and development of the party in the State.

He stated categorically that some members of the party are not pleased with certain situations in the party which is quite understandable, stressing that the party is an opposition party in the state in which empowerment platforms for members of the party are limited unlike the ruling party in the State.

“It is important to note that party members are leaving the party simply because of the fact that they want to be part of the sharing formula of the present government, and those who have left the party will be back to the party at the appropriate time. However, am very much impressed with the pedigree of leaders am seeing here.

Some party stakeholders while speaking raised pertinent issues affecting the party and its members for the past few years, which needed to be taken into cognizance and addressed. The state chairman and the leader of the party while speaking did justice to most of the issues that were raised in the meeting.

Sen. Degi Eremienyo speaking while giving vote of thanks, gave a brief recap of the traumatizing circumstance that the leader of the party went through resulting from the supreme court ruling against the party, which no one should feel more pained about the unfortunate incident at this point in time, rather, it is time for every party man and woman to work in unity towards the growth and development of the party.

He urged every member of the party not to be distracted by those who have left the party to the ruling party but, it is time for every member of the party to be committed and dedicated working together in harmony galvanizing support towards ensuring the victory of party candidates in the forthcoming general election. He ended his speech by appreciating the leader of the party and every stakeholder in attendance.
