Bagou in a statement sent to hotnews described the road project as a great step in the right direction towards improving the road network, businesses and other economic activities of the state capital, Yenagoa metropolis, which is highly commendable.

The statement reads in parts:

“I commend Governor Douye Diri for the completion of the first phase of the Igbogene-Tombia glory drive road project considering the economic importance of the road project to businesses and residents of the state.

It is important to note that the project was initiated by the Chief Timipre Sylva’s administration to expand the road network of the state capital for free movement of residents and business activities.

The vision behind the road project by the Chief Timipre Sylva’s administration, is to construct a dual lane road from Igbogene down to government house with the primary objective of expanding the road network of the state capital.

The Sylva’s administration compensated the communities involved for the project including clearing and sand filling of the road project from Igbogene down to Tombia-Amassoma road, which the Diri administration has completed.

“I want to sincerely commend the governor and the government for perceiving the great need for the completion of the project from Igbogene down to Tombia-Amassoma road.

“I want to further urge Governor Douye Diri to commence the continuation of the project down to government house in order to further improve the movement of residents and business activities in the state capital.
