Bayelsa @30: Sagbama Acting Chairman, Mrs Yankee-Robinson Leads Sagbama Delegation To Mega Praise

The Acting Chairman of Sagbama Local Government Area, Hon. (Mrs) Diepriye Roseline Yankee-Robinson, on Wednesday led a delegation of women groups from across the local government area to participate in the mega praise held as part of activities marking the 30th anniversary of the creation of Bayelsa State.

The mega praise held at the sports complex in Yenagoa, which attracted people from different communities and groups across the state, provided an opportunity for Bayelsans to come together in songs, prayers and thanksgiving as they celebrated three decades of the state’s existence.

The Sagbama women, who turned out in large numbers, joined other Bayelsans in an atmosphere of praise, thanksgiving and celebration, expressing gratitude for the creation of Bayelsa State while reflecting on the progress recorded over the years.

Mrs Yankee-Robinson stated that the 30th anniversary was an important milestone for the state, providing an opportunity for citizens to reflect on Bayelsa’s journey, and appreciate the progress recorded over the years with renewed commitment to peace, unity and development in the State.

According to her, the anniversary provides an opportunity for Bayelsans to appreciate the struggles and sacrifices that preceded the creation of the state, celebrate the progress made over the years and renew their commitment to building a more peaceful and prosperous Bayelsa.

She used the medium to encourage the women groups to remain peaceful and united in contributing positively to the development of their communities and the state, noting that women have a critical role to play in promoting peace, unity, and social progress.

The council chairman also called on Bayelsans to use the anniversary as an opportunity to strengthen their commitment to building a peaceful and prosperous Bayelsa, stressing the importance of collective responsibility in advancing the state’s development.

The massive turnout of women from Sagbama, added colour to the festive atmosphere of the mega praise in thanksgiving while reflecting on the enthusiasm of residents to be part of the activities commemorating Bayelsa State’s 30th anniversary celebration.

The event further demonstrated the commitment of the Sagbama local government leadership to ensure that residents actively participate in all activities marking the historic milestone in celebration of the state’s 30th anniversary journey together.
