CP Idu Orders Enforcement Of Tinted Glass Regulations

The Commissioner of Police Bayelsa State Police Command, CP Francis Idu has ordered full enforcement of tinted vehicle glass regulations on Thursday, 2nd October, 2025.
Hot News gathered that the directive comes under the authority of the Motor Vehicles (Prohibition of Tinted Glass) Act, 2004, which is enacted into Law for strict enforcement and compliance from the general public.
The directive from the state police command is a compliance of the announcement by the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun on strict enforcement of tinted vehicle glass regulations across Nigeria on Thursday, 2nd October, 2025.
In a statement by the State Police Command Public Relations Officer, DSP Musa Mohammed, the command issued a stern warning against the unauthorized use of sirens and revolving/strobe lights number plates for security purposes.
“All number plates must remain clear, visible, and properly affixed at all times. Any covering, bending, defacing, or alteration that renders them unreadable is strictly prohibited, and will attract legal action,” the statement added.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Aloyenu Francis Idu reiterated that the exercise is a strategic initiative aimed at detecting criminality, and strengthening the overall security and safety of all residents across Bayelsa State.
CP Idu called on the general public to cooperate fully with the exercise, stating that those found in violation of the regulations will face appropriate legal consequences.
