Bayelsa LG Elections: PDP Chairmanship Candidate, Mrs Alice Allen Cast Vote, Describes Process Peaceful, Transparent

The Chairmanship Candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) for Sagbama Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Hon. (Mrs) Alice Tangi Allen, has exercised her franchise at her polling unit in Akeddei Community under ward twelve (12).

The PDP chairmanship candidate, Mrs Alice Allen while addressing newsmen shortly after casting her vote at the polling unit, commended the electoral umpire (SIEC) for conducting free, fair, peaceful, transparent and credible elections.

In her remarks, Mrs Alice said that her administration will focus more on the agricultural sector by educating the girl child and building the youths through skill acquisition programs, and quality healthcare for the elderly, adding that she won’t disappoint in improving the people’s welfare.

The former leader of Sagbama Legislative Arm, Mrs Alice used the medium to thank the Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Douye Diri, his Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo, former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West, Chief Henry Seriake Dickson, and other stakeholders for the support.

According to her, stakeholders will be consulted widely as a government of all-inclusiveness and unification, as she expressed confidence of total victory in the council elections.

In their solidarity speeches, Hon. Yague Koribokiri James, former Technical Adviser on Special Duties, stated that the choice of stakeholders is a square peg in a round hole, stressing that Mrs Alice Allen has the capacity to deliver good governance as an experienced and competent servant-leader.

Also speaking, Pastor (Mrs) Monice Goodness Pereagbe, who casted her vote in one of the polling units in Akeddei community, expressed profound gratitude to God for making it possible for a woman to be a frontline chairmanship candidate in council elections, stating that it’s first in the history of the council.

While expressing confidence in Mrs Alice Allen’s victory, Mrs Monica advised her to be focused on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people, most especially to the women, but working closely with critical stakeholders at various wards across the LGA.

Independent electoral observers while commending the electoral body for conducting transparent and credible council elections, thanked the electorates for coming out en masse to vote for their preferred chairmanship and councilorship candidates in the election basically.
