Breaking: Akpabio, Barau, Other Senators-Elect Holds Meeting With APC National Working Committee

The preferred candidates for the Senate President and Deputy Senate President positions of the 10th National Assembly, Senator Godswill Akpabio and Senator Jibrin Barau met with APC National Working Committee on Tuesday 16th, 2023.

The preferred senate president and deputy senate president candidates meeting the with national working committee of the party was held at the party national secretariat Abuja, which was presided by the party National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

Hot News gathered that Senator Akpabio and Senator Barau arrived at the party national secretariat with over forty senators around 12:55pm in two coater buses to hold the strategic meeting with the party national working committee.

The primary objective of the meeting was to proffer solutions to the national assembly leadership crisis within the party arising from the decision of the party national working committee in zoning the leadership positions in the 10th national assembly.

Recall that the APC National Working Committee last week announced a zoning arrangement and preferred candidates for Senate President, Deputy Senate President, Speaker and Deputy Speaker in the 10th National Assembly.

The zoning arrangement however didn’t went down well with some lawmakers, as well as other party members and stakeholders of the party, which caused disunity among lawmakers in the party.
