Breaking: Former PDP National Legal Adviser Resigns From The Party, Give Reasons..Joins The APC

A Former National Legal Adviser for the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), David Iorhemba has resigned from the party few days to the governorship and state house of assembly elections.

Iorhemba, who is a former Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly and former Deputy National Secretary of the Party (PDP) from Guma Local Government Area of Benue State, which happens to be Local Government Area of Governor Samuel Ortom.

Following the PDP’s defeat in the presidential and national assembly elections, party leaders in the state took the bull by the horns to defect to the opposition party the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The seating Governor, Samuel Ortom and his predecessor, Gabriel Suswam were defeated by the opposition party (APC) candidates in their senatorial bids, retaining only one senatorial seat out of three.

Out of the eleven house of representatives seats, the PDP won only one while the contending opposition party, the APC cruised to victory with ten house of representatives seats in the state.

In his resignation letter to the PDP ward chairman, the lawyer stated and it reads:

“Having painstakingly consulted with my family, friends and political associates, I hereby write to formally resign my membership with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).

“This is to inform you of my formal withdrawal from the party and its activities forthwith.

According to Iorhemba, his resignation is in absolute good faith, as he would wish to focus more on his private law practice and other businesses.

The former PDP chieftain expressed profound gratitude for the opportunities he received from the party and its leadership to serve in various capacities at the state and the national level.
