Breaking: Igbagara Withdraw House Of Reps Ambition
Frontline Aspirant for the House of Representatives seat in the Sagbama-Ekeremor Federal Constituency under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, Mr. Princewill Igbagara, PhD, has voluntarily withdrawal from the race.
Dr. Igbagara, who had been widely regarded as one of the leading contenders for the APC ticket ahead of the forthcoming elections, said his decision was borne out of the need to strengthen cohesion within the party, and ensure a united front for the party’s victory in the election.
The voluntary withdrawal contained in a letter addressed to the APC National Chairman dated 2nd of April, 2026, he described the decision as one taken in the overriding interest of the party and the unity of its members in the constituency.
In a statement made available to newsmen, the aspirant noted that after extensive consultations with political stakeholders, party elders, supporters, and associates across Sagbama and Ekeremor local government areas, he resolved to step aside in order to promote harmony and collective progress.
According to him, politics should not be driven by personal ambition alone, but by sacrifice, loyalty, and commitment to the greater good of the people and the political platform that provides the opportunity for service.
“My withdrawal is in the best interest of our great party, the APC. I remain fully committed to the ideals, unity, and progress of the party, and I believe that at this critical moment, every loyal member must place the party’s interest above personal aspirations,” he stated.
Dr. Igbagara expressed gratitude to his supporters, political associates, youths, women groups, and stakeholders who had stood firmly behind his aspiration throughout the consultation period.
He described their encouragement, loyalty, and confidence in his leadership as deeply inspiring, noting that he doesn’t take it for granted.
He urged his supporters not to see the development as a setback, but rather as a strategic sacrifice aimed at consolidating the strength of the APC ahead of future political engagements in the constituency and the state at large.
The APC stalwart further called on party faithfuls in Sagbama-Ekeremor to remain peaceful, united, and committed to the collective objective of repositioning the constituency through effective representation and leadership in the constituency.
Political observers believes that the withdrawal may significantly reshape the dynamics within the APC in the federal constituency, as consultations and alignments continue among major stakeholders ahead of the party’s conduct of selecting candidates.
Despite voluntarily withdrawing from the contest, Dr. Igbagara reaffirmed his dedication to the development of the APC in the federal constituency, by making meaningful contributions towards the growth and development of the party when the need arises.
While filing this report, Dr. Princewill Igbagara had not issued any official statement regarding his next political move following his voluntary withdrawal from the contest.
