Dickson Mourns Former Bayelsa Acting-Governor, Nestor Binabo… Commiserates With Family Members

Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Henry Seriake Dickson has expressed sadness over the death of a former Acting Governor of the State, Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo.

Binabo, who was acting Governor of Bayelsa State between January 27 and February 14, 2012, died on Thursday after a protracted illness.

Dickson described the death of the late politician as a heavy loss his community, Okumbiri, Bayelsa State, the Ijaw nation and indeed the Niger Delta at large.

He stated that Binabo who occupied several political positions both at the executive and legislative organs, was an astute politician who made positive impacts in the development of the state.

He was a leading chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) until his death.

The former Governor commiserated with the Binabo’s family, the people of Okumbiri Community in Sagbama Local Government Area, and indeed the State over the loss of the illustrious politician.

He urged them to take solace in the fact that he lived a productive life with impact on his family, community and the state.

He prayed for the external repose of the soul of the late politician.

He said, “I received with pain the death of former Acting Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Nestor Binabo.

Binabo was an astute politician who occupied several sensitive positions as Speaker, Deputy Speaker, Acting Speaker, apart from being an Acting Governor of our state.

“It is a fact that he made serious impact as a politician and contributed his quota to the desired development of our state.

“I commiserate with his immediate family, the loved ones he has left behind, the Okumbiri Community of Sagbama Local Government Area and the state.

“I pray to God to grant his loved ones the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss and for the eternal repose of this great soul.”
