Ekerefe’s Statement On Governor Douye Diri And Management Of The NDDC Led By Dr. Samuel Ogbuku, Borne Out Of Mischief, Malice, Overwhelmed By Intermittent Explosive Disorder.

As reported in the media and other news outlets, the management of the NDDC led by Dr. Samuel Ogbuku and other top management staff had a working visit to the Governor of Bayelsa State at Government House, Yenagoa.

Senator Douye Diri while welcoming the Samuel Ogbuku led management team of the NDDC, made an innocuous remark intended to spur a close and smooth working relationship with the visiting management team of the NDDC.

It’s a common knowledge within the Niger Delta region that successive management team of the NDDC have had frictions with some governors in the region largely, due to how projects are sited and executed haphazardly; prompting duplications.

The governor’s harmless remarks to the visiting NDDC management team, was meant to draw the attention of the current management to this recurring developmental challenges faced by the people of the region.

It’s an unarguable fact that when you go round Bayelsa State, you may be confronted with some of these recurring projects.

Pitiably, dishonest characters; such as Ebilade Ekerefe and his co-travellers who have turned latter – day activists, have decided to make a mountain out of a molehill; all in a bid to feather their own nest.

Ekerefe’s stance is on the ill of his failure to secure a lucrative appointment from the Prosperity Assured Government ably led by Senator Douye Diri and his supportive Deputy, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo.

It’s on record that the Governor, Senator Douye Diri engaged over four thousand (4000) political appointees, and a significant number of them are youths from across the eight Local Government Areas of Bayelsa State, which more will be engaged in the coming days in service to the state.

Ebilade Ekerefe has benefited immensely from the generosity and benevolence of Governor Diri and his close aides, which his elevation as Spokesman of the Ijaw Youth Council ( IYC) Worldwide was orchestrated by these ebullient personalities.

Also, when his wife had health challenges, the state government supported him handsomely, as a government that understands the challenges of its citizens.

Recently, he was given a huge financial support by a key aide of the Prosperity Assured Government when he complained of financial challenges.

What more can a government do to massage the ego of such a gluttonous character who cannot even win his polling unit for a system he claims to protect and work for?

Whilst still nursing the pains of not being able to secure a lucrative political appointment from the state government, Ebilade Ekerefe and his cohorts have resolved to casting aspersions on the state government.

It’s pathetic that they have elected to be willing tools in the hands of anarchists to cause strife and disharmony amongst prominent leaders in the state.

Governor Diri has overtime demonstrated that he is a man of peace, who is willing to prioritise the interest and development of Bayelsa State over and above any other consideration.

The governor has made it known to all and sundry; that he is ready to collaborate with critical agency, such as the NDDC and other important agencies of government and other developmental partners for the overall development of Bayelsa State.

No amount of distraction from Ebilade Ekerefe and his cohorts would shift the focus of the governor from his onerous task of faithfully implementing his Prosperity Assured Agenda for Bayelsans.
