Ekeremor Community Youth Presidents Forum Commends Senator Dickson, Declare Total Support For His Reelection

…ask APC senatorial candidate to focus on issue-based campaign

Ekeremor Communities’ Youth Presidents Forum, on Tuesday, 22nd November, 2022, endorsed Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, flagbearer of the PDP for Bayelsa West Senatorial District in next year’s general election.

Senator Dickson, representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District in the National Assembly, was unanimously endorsed by the group during an emergency meeting with past and present community Presidents and Vice Presidents in attendance.

Addressing newsmen, Chairman of the Forum, Justice Yanga-Ozoko, said though the group is apolitical, it would work with other support groups and organisations to sensitise and mobilise the electorates in Ekeremor, to ensure that Senator Dickson garners bloc votes and emerge victorious at the poll.

According to him, Senator Dickson is much loved as he had endeared himself to Ekeremor people when, as Governor, he not only entrusted key offices to Ekeremor indigenes, but embarked on laudable projects including the Sagbama-Ekeremor road project with bridges linking various communities in the area.

Yanga-Ozoko said Ekeremor youths are not ungrateful and are determined to reciprocate Senator Dickson’s immense contributions to Ekeremor and it’s indigenes, by supporting his bid for the Senate, where he has since made huge contributions to both state and nation.

He however called on Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha, standard bearer of the APC to desist from his campaign of calumny fueled by fear of defeat and embarrassment at the poll, and advised him to focus on issue-based campaigns, which he noted is a sheer waste of time and effort due to his disappointing performance at the House of Assembly.

Also,Vice Chairman of the Forum, Timadi Ayabeke, emphasised that Senator Dickson remains the best choice for the senatorial zone due to his assertive and quality representation, top-notch debates, presentation while raising issues of resource control, marginalisation and pollution caused by oil exploration in Bayelsa West, Ijaw Nation and Niger Delta at large.

He also dragged Hon. Wilson Ayakpo Dauyegha for fabricating lies against Senator Dickson, aimed at whipping up sentiments, saying the lawmaker is bereft of ideas on how to go about his campaign and feel so peddling lies of intimidation and harassment by Senator Dickson will favour his election bid.

While warning that Hon. Dauyegha’s political gimmicks and shenanigans, all in a bid to draw sympathy and support from Ekeremor people, is a bid in futility, the group’s Vice Chairman, said Ekeremor youths can and will never be swayed by lies and zoning propaganda.

The meeting climaxed with a vote of confidence passed on Senator Dickson, with renewed call for the former two-term Governor popularly called Ofurumapepe, to disregard every attempt to distract him and instead focus on attracting the dividends of democracy to his constituents who are truly appreciative of his efforts at the National Assembly.
