There has been rumors on the press media and social media platforms alleging that the immediate past Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, is plotting against the reelection of his successor, Governor Douye Diri.

There has also been rumors sponsored by mischief-makers to spread propaganda against the former governor and serving senator that he sponsored some of his loyalists to contest the concluded general elections under Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Bayelsa Integrity Group has accused some political appointees in government house under the prosperity administration of sponsoring such propagandas against the former governor and senator representing Bayelsa West, Henry Seriake Dickson.

In a statement signed by the group spokesman, Comrade Perekeme Oyinkuro, stated that the rumors are nothing but propagandas sponsored by political appointees in the prosperity government to misinform the public and tarnish the reputation of the former governor.

“The same government house political appointees sponsoring the propagandas against the former governor and serving senator served in his administration, the restoration government.

“They were still recommended to the sitting governor by the former governor to be appointed in their respective offices to serve under the current administration.

“The primary objective behind the sponsorship of the propagandas, is to cause disunity between the Governor, Senator Douye Diri and his predecessor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson.

“It is an unarguable fact that the governor and his predecessor has been enjoying a cordial working relationship over the years, which the respective political appointees are envious of, and they are trying everything possible to cause disunity among them.

Comrade Perekeme urged the general public to disregard any news of rift between Dickson and Diri as propaganda and fake news, tending to delude the general public to thwart the PDP chances of winning the November 11th gubernatorial election.

“Dickson is only interested in delivering quality representation to constituents in making laws that will attract developmental projects to the constituency, rather than as alleged by those sponsoring the propagandas against him” he said.
