Group Commends Gov. Diri Over Kick-Off Of Agge Deep SeaPort

The Bayelsa West Youth Frontiers (BWYF) has commended the Bayelsa State Governor, His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri for the commencement of the Agge Deep Seaport project in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

In a statement issued by the group spokesman, Mr Preye Bagou, described the governor’s strategic bold step in the commencement of the project, as a great step in the right direction towards turning the state into a commercial hub.

Bagou commending the Governor Diri led prosperity government’s bold steps and commitment to actualize the Agge deep seaport project, said the project will enhance numerous socio-economic activities in the state and beyond when completed.

The Agge deep seaport project which was conceived and conceptualized by the previous administration led by Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, will fast-track the state’s economy as a commercial project that will boost economic activities in the state.

The group spokesman commended the state helmsman for continuing legacy projects conceived by the previous administration, geared towards improving socio-economic activities in the state for improved services and welfare to the populace.

Bagou highlighting the countless economic benefits of a deep seaport in the state, said the project will boost economic growth, job creation, trade competitiveness, import costs, access to markets for importation of materials and equipments globally.

He called on the federal government to give full support for the timely completion of the project, stressing that the project will further boost the nation’s economy as a project sited in a state with economic advantage of various natural, mineral resources.

“I am confident that the completion of the project, the state’s economy will be revamped, as a commercial project that will create jobs in construction, logistics, maritime services, including revenue generation in taxes, duties, royalties.

Bagou also called on the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) and multinational oil companies operating in the state, to partner with the state government in funding the project for rapid completion due to the various economic benefits.

He urged Bayelsans to continue their unwavering support for the Governor Douye Diri led administration, as the government continuously embark on laudable projects towards improving socio-economic activities in the state for improved citizens welfare.
