Group Declares Support For Gov. Diri’s Exit From PDP

A prominent socio-political group with members across Bayelsa State and Nigeria, named Tamarankuro Empire, has affirmed its full support for Governor Douye Diri following his recent resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

The group, known for its unified front among like-minded citizens which focuses on environmental and social injustice, cultural heritage preservation and helping the needy says that it sees the Governor’s decision as a strategic necessity for the state’s continued development.

In a statement signed by the Emperor, Leader Aballaru Tamarankuro and the Chairman, Dr. Ayakeme Tonkiri, said the Governor as the undisputed political leader of Bayelsa, is in the best position to chart the most favorable course for the well-being of the citizens.

The statement maintains that as a group, they recognize that the Governor’s decision to quit the party was taken in firm conviction, rooted in the deep knowledge of what is truly best for the long-term prosperity stability, development of the state.

Commending Governor Diri on his sterling leadership qualities in repositioning the state towards greatness, the group emphasized its total backing of the Governor’s resignation, assured its support of whatever necessary step that the Governor deems fit to take in the immediate future to secure the state’s political and economic future.

“Gladly, it’s a new down in Bayelsa with the array of projects spread across the State especially with the coming on stream of the 60,000 Megawatts Gas Turbine to ensure steady power supply in the state.

“Bayelsa stands at the threshold of an agricultural revolution, encourages Small and Medium Scale business (SMEs) that will boost,
stimulate sustainable economic growth across the state.

Leader Aballaru and Dr. Tonkiri called on all Bayelsans to rally behind the Governor’s new political direction, citing his proven capacity to continue leading the state to glorious heights, as demonstrated by the remarkable infrastructural and human capital development achieved during his administration.
