President Buhari Congratulates Chef Hilda For Setting New Guinness World Record For Longest Cooking Marathon

President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Chef Hilda Baci as she breaks the Guinness World Record of the longest time in cooking.

Buhari’s congratulation comes after the chef has cooked for over 92hrs in her attempt to break the world record set by Lata Tondon.

Mr President made the congratulatory statement on his twitter account, and it read in parts:

“I share the immense joy of all Nigerians as Hilda Bassey Effiong (Hilda Baci) makes history by breaking the world record for the longest cooking marathon.

“A great day for Nigeria and Nigerians. We are all very proud of what she has personally accomplished, and placing Nigeria in the global spotlight.

“Hilda’s drive, ambition and resilience have brought great interest and insight into the uniqueness of Nigerian food to the world.

“She is now a cultural icon, and I believe that this feat will inspire many more young people in Nigeria and beyond to follow her footsteps.

The previous world record for the longest cooking marathon set by Tondon was 87hours 45mins.
