Students Body Drums Support For Sunny-Goli, Urges Diri’s Endorsement

A growing wave of political momentum is building in Bayelsa East Senatorial District as Students Bodies and Youth Groups rally behind Former Federal Lawmaker representing Nembe-Brass Federal Constituency, Rt. Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli, urging his endorsement, and emergence as preferred candidate for the senatorial seat in Bayelsa East.

As party primaries draw closer, the coalition of Worldwide Students Presidents of Bayelsa East Senatorial District have called on the Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State and other well-meaning stakeholders to support Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli for the Bayelsa East Senatorial District seat in the 2027 general elections.

The student body described Sunny-Goli as a tested and people-oriented leader whose impact during his tenure in the House of Representatives was widely felt across his constituency and beyond.

They said that through his leadership, numerous constituents secured employment opportunities, while thousands benefited from empowerment initiatives, including the distribution of motorcycles, tricycles (keke), and buses during his time as a member of the House Committee on Transportation.

According to the students, his interventions cut across all demographics, youths, women, and the elderly, which they say have earned him a reputation as a grassroots politician with a genuine commitment to the welfare of his people.

The students noted that Sunny-Goli’s leadership style is defined by accessibility and responsiveness.

Sunny-Goli is a leader with an open door policy who remains approachable, attentive, and deeply connected to the needs of his constituents.m, they said.

“Rt. Hon. Israel Sunny-Goli is a true people’s man, jovial, articulate, and committed to delivering quality representation. We believe he has the capacity to attract meaningful development from the national level down to Bayelsa East Senatorial District,” the statement read in part.

The students emphasized that the need for credible and impactful leadership remains critical, urging stakeholders to support a candidate with a proven track record.

“The choice is clear. Hear your children,” the students echoed.

Following a meeting of the student leaders, one of the beneficiaries of Sunny-Goli’s goodwill, Mr. Ayowei Alvin, shared his personal experience.

Ayowei recounted how he benefited from Sunny-Goli’s scholarship scheme during his Master’s degree in the United Kingdom and continues to receive support even after Sunny-Goli left office.

“I thought my journey had ended when he left office. But he still supported my dreams and I’m currently on my PHD journey, courtesy of him, that is what true representation means,” he said.
