Sylva’s Choice Of Running Mate In The November 11th Bayelsa Gubernatorial Election
Former Minister of State, Petroleum Resources and Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Timipre Marlin Sylva has picked an Ex-Agitator, Great Joshua MacIver as running mate in the November 11th gubernatorial election in the State.
Sylva emerge as the governorship candidate of the party for the November 11th gubernatorial election in the state, after polling 52,061 votes out of 55,141 total votes cast in the party governorship primaries conducted by the national election committee chaired by Major General Ahmed Jibrin (Rtd).
Hot News gathered that the former governorship candidate of the APC in 2019, David Lyon who also contested the party governorship primaries has challenged the result of the election in court after he scored third position in the primaries with a total of 1,872 votes out of 55,141 votes cast.
However, there are rumours that former governorship candidate, David Lyon has withdrawn his petition against the party and the governorship candidate, Timipre Sylva, though, the story is yet to be confirmed from the former governorship candidate and party stalwart.
Sylva’s choice of MacIver as running mate in the November 11th Bayelsa gubernatorial election has created some level of tension and jubilation in the two contending political parties, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) towards the gubernatorial election in the state.
An elder statesman when interviewed stated that the November 11th gubernatorial election in the state will be a tough battle for the two contending political parties in the state, stressing that it will be a money battle. However, the winner of the gubernatorial election will be decided by the people.
He further stated that there will be defections from one political party to the other in the coming days, which will create some level of instability in political parties mostly the two contending political parties, the APC and the PDP as the gubernatorial election draws closer.
