Mass Defection Hits ADC As 17 Rep Members Joins NDC
The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) continuous to build massive support across Nigeria, as during plenary session on Tuesday, seventeen (17) members of the House of Reps have officially dumped the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to join the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).
Hotnews gathered that the defection news contained in a letter addressed to the house was announced by the deputy speaker, Rt. Hon. Benjamin Kalu announced during plenary session on Tuesday, 5th May, 2026.
The massive defection from the ADC to the NDC, follows Monday’s official defection of the 2023 Labour Party (LP) presidential candidate, Mr Peter Obi, and former New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) presidential candidate, Alhaji Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, who resigned from the ADC to join the NDC.
Additionally, the defection of Leke Abejide from the ADC to the All Progressives Congress (APC) was confirmed during the plenary session.
The lawmakers who defected to the NDC from the ADC includes Yusuf Datti, Uchenna Okonkwo, Adamu Wakili, Thaddeus Attah, George Ozodinobi, Lilian Orogbu, Oluwaseyi Sowunmi, Peter Aniekwe, Mukhtar Zakari, George Oluwande, and Munachim Umezuruike.
Others are Emeka Idu, Jesse Onuakalusi, Ifeanyi Uzokwe, Afam Ogene, Abdulhakeem Ado, and Murphy Osaro Omoruyi.
