Bayelsa State Governor, Senator Douye Diri, on Thursday led the Deputy Governor, Dr. Peter Akpe, and members of the State Executive Council on a condolence visit to the Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo, following the passing of his father, Chief (Pastor) B. A. Ololo-Ikirigo-(Elect).

Hotnews gathered that the visit, which took place at the residence of the Commissioner, underscored the solidarity and support of the Bayelsa State Government with the Ololo family during their period of mourning.

Governor Diri, while consoling Hon. Ololo and members of his family, expressed deep sympathy over the loss of the family patriarch and assured them that the government and people of Bayelsa State stand firmly with them in this difficult moment.

The governor noted that the death of a loved one, particularly a father and family leader, is always a painful experience, but encouraged the bereaved family to take solace in the impactful life lived by the deceased and the enduring legacy he left behind.

He further prayed for God’s comfort, strength, and guidance for the family as they navigate the period of grief and prepare for the final burial rites of the departed elder statesman from Nembe Ogbolomabiri in Nembe Local Government Area.

Accompanying Governor Diri on the visit were the Secretary to the State Government, Professor Nimibofa Ayawei; Acting Chief of Staff, Government House, Mr. Irorodamie Komonibo; members of the State Executive Council; Chief Security Coordinator, retired Brigadier General Eric Angaye; as well as other top government officials and functionaries.

Responding on behalf of the family, Hon. Ebi Ben Ololo expressed heartfelt appreciation to Governor Diri, the Deputy Governor, and members of the delegation for identifying with the family at such a challenging time.

The Environment Commissioner described the governor’s visit as a demonstration of genuine compassion, leadership, and solidarity, noting that the support shown by the state government had brought comfort to the family.

He thanked the delegation for their prayers and words of encouragement and assured them that the family would keep the government informed about the arrangements and programmes for the burial of their late father.

As part of the condolence visit, Governor Diri signed the condolence register in honour of the deceased before departing the residence.

The condolence visit reflected the close-knit relationship within the Bayelsa state government and reaffirmed its tradition of standing by public servants and their families during moments of joy and sorrow.
