Yenagoa Enjoys Steady Power Supply As BYERA Begins Free Meter Distribution

Bayelsa State Electricity Regulatory Agency (BYERA) has commenced the rollout and distribution of free prepaid electricity meters to households in Yenagoa and its environs, in a major step towards eliminating estimated billing to ensure a more transparent and accountable electricity billing system to consumers across the state.

Recall that the Assured Prosperity Administration of Governor Douye Diri, after the approval and commencement for the construction of the state-owned 60mw gas turbines, partnered with a Chinese company to produce meters for free distribution to electricity consumers to ensure transparency in the billing system across the state.
