A Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Bayelsa State, Chief Perekeme Wilson has confirmed that the statement of the leader of the party in the state, Chief Timipre Sylva is totally true about Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa State, having mental and character instability from childhood while growing up to adulthood.

Recall that during the political parties campaigns of the gubernatorial election in 2019, Sylva stated that the PDP governorship candidate, Douye Diri is suffering from mental and character instability which he has been managing over the decades, stressing that it affects his day-to-day utterances, actions and sense of reasoning as a person.

A reliable source revealed that Governor Douye Diri has been having mental and character instability right from childhood where he was admitted in various clinic and hospital for medical treatment, adding that he was greatly affected to the extent that his mental instability gradually started affecting his memory capacity while growing up to adulthood.

Considering Governor Douye Diri’s style of leadership, policies and programmes of governance since assumption in office, there is no doubt that the governor might be suffering from mental and character instability. With proper assessment of his ever smiling face, utterances and actions in public gatherings and other occasions further confirms the claims to be true.

Hot news gathered that Governor Douye Diri does not know the total number of appointees and the salary allocated to the various portfolios under his administration over the years. Douye Diri is not aware of the cost of the day-to-day activities of the government, rather than giving approval to every document submitted on his table without proper investigation and assessment.

Investigations indicate that few government house appointees are taking advantage of Governor Douye Diri’s mental instability and memory challenge to make so much money for themselves and families from the government at the expense of the populace, without the knowledge and consent of the governor since assumption in office over the years.

The government is been controlled and managed by few government house appointees who runs the government with pettiness and propagandas deluding the governor with false claims against critical leaders and stakeholders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state, with the primary objective of been in control of the government.

The governor’s recent outburst on the defense of the expenditure of the 13 percent derivation refunds amounted to billions of naira received from the federation account further indicates the governor’s lack of accountability and transparency in the appropriation and management of public funds in the state.

Governor Douye Diri’s wrong policies and programmes of governance, and poor performance in infrastructure, human capital development, unemployment, education, healthcare etc, despite huge monthly faac allocations, excess crude oil funds, federal road project refunds, bailout funds etc, will affect his chances of winning the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

Hot news gathered that senator Dickson will not support Gov. Diri’s reelection in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state, as a result of his unstable and unreliable utterances, actions, policies, programmes, style of leadership and governance. Importantly, the manner and approach the governor is handling critical stakeholders of the ruling party, the PDP in the state.

The Ofurumapepe gave the governor a very sound warning in his new year message at Sampou Community, where he spoke in riddles to convey his message to Bayelsans. Someone with a deep understanding of the Ofurumapepe’s message will understand that he was clearly stating the danger that will befall the governor, if he refuses to change his ways, retrace his steps and make amends with his predecessor.

Douye Diri’s refusal to change his ways and retrace his steps, rather than continuous trend of leadership and governance with pettiness and proliferation of propaganda to fight against his predecessor, his subordinates, and other critical stakeholders of the PDP, will only spell a doom for the governor in the forthcoming gubernatorial election.

The contending opposition party in the state and the ruling party at the federal level, the All Progressives Congress (APC) is warming up building political bridges and uniting elder statesmen, leaders, stakeholders and supporters of the party to take over power from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the forthcoming gubernatorial election in the state.

APC will have a landslide victory in the November 11th gubernatorial election, with proper assessment of performance of the Governor Douye Diri led PDP Government, and his current relationship with his predecessor, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson who tried everything constitutionally possible to ensure his victory in the previous gubernatorial election.

Governor Douye Diri should retrace his steps and change his style of leadership and governance in the state. He should engage critical leaders and stakeholders of the PDP in round-table discussions before the forthcoming gubernatorial election, or else, he will be shocked with the outcome of the forthcoming general elections, and the gubernatorial election in the state.
