Reappoint Ndiomu To Continue The Reposition Of PAP To Achieve The Desired Results Of The Niger Delta – Group To Tinubu
The Niger Delta Integrity Group has called on President Bola Tinubu to reappoint Maj-General Barry Ndiomu (Retd) as a matter of urgency to continue to reposition the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP) for effective service delivery of the programme.
The group stated that the programme has made so much improvement under the current leadership of Maj-General Barry Ndiomu (Retd), stressing that a lot of discrepancies and abnormalities in the programme has been corrected and repositioned under his leadership.
The group spokesman, Comrade Oyinkuro Perekeme made the call while addressing newsmen in Yenagoa the Bayelsa state capital, stressed the urgent need for the reappointment of Ndiomu to provide the needed leadership of the presidential amnesty programme.
Perekeme called on political and traditional leaders of the Niger Delta to continue to support Ndiomu’s leadership and reappointment as a stakeholders who understands the challenges of the region with the requisite experience to handle the affairs of the programme.
He said that the good intentions of the federal government for establishing the programme to tackle the challenges of the people of the Niger Delta region was mismanaged by previous administrations before the current administration under the leadership of Maj-General Barry Ndiomu (Retd) that has repositioned and restructured the programme.
Perekeme stated that Ndiomu since assumption in office has continued to engage political leaders, traditional leaders, community leaders and civil society organizations in decision-making processes for effectiveness and sustainability of the programme for the benefit of the people of the Niger Delta region.
“The interventionist programme was entangled with lots of irregularities and abnormalities in terms of multiplication of beneficiaries data, names, bank accounts etc which deprived other people of the Niger Delta region from benefiting from the programme as it was designed and established to be,” he added.
The group called on President Bola Tinubu as a matter of urgency to reappoint Maj-General Barry Ndiomu (Retd) to continue to reposition and restructure the programme to achieve the desired results of the establishment of the programme by the federal government.
The group added that reappointing Ndiomu to continue to reposition and restructure the programme to achieve its objectives in order to sustain the peace in the region, which will boost oil production in the region towards improving economic activities to address economic challenges in the region.
