Senator Dickson & Deputy Gov. Paid New Year Visit To Alei Of Aleibiri & Council Of Chiefs
The Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson and the Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo led a delegation to visit the Alei of Aleibiri and the Council of Chiefs to deliver New Year goodwill messages.
The former governor and senator made this known through his official facebook handle, stated that the new year visit was to appreciate the Alei of Aleibiri and council of chiefs for the peace and stability in the kingdom, and their continuous support of the PDP and the state government in the last election.
The council of chiefs accompanied the federal lawmaker to attend the funeral rites and interment of the mother of Hon. Alex Dumbo to comfort and sympathize with the family to be strong, and prayed for the family to have the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
Senator Dickson while thanking leaders of the community, the senatorial district and the state for attending the event, specifically appreciated the former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi and his wife who were in attendance for the event.
Senator Dickson accompanied by the deputy governor paid a condolence visit to a retired permanent secretary, Chief Suru Oyarede for the loss of his step-son who died in December, 2023.
The statement reads: “The Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Senator Lawrence Ewhrudjakpo and I led a delegation to visit Chief Suru Oyarede, a community leader in Aleibiri, a retired permanent secretary and one of the leaders of Ekeremor Local Government and Bayelsa West, over the loss of his wife last year and the loss of his step son also in December.
“Thereafter we paid a courtesy call on the Alei of Aleibiri and his council of chiefs who are my colleagues as I am the Tarekekereowei of Alei Kingdom.
“The chiefs accompanied us to attend the funeral rites and interment of the mother of Honorable Alex Dumbo and we praised her for raising a decent and honourable son and left behind a family. We pray God to grant her soul eternal rest and the family, the fortitude to bear the loss.
“I thank all the leaders of the senatorial district, leaders of the community and leaders across Bayelsa who found time to be at the event which is a testimony of the extent of impact her son has made over the years and I thank the former Deputy Governor, Right Honorable Perembowei Ebebi, his wife and every other person who was there.
