Senator Dickson Led Delegation To Commiserates With Family Of Late Chief T.K.O Okorotie, OFR

The Former Governor and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson paid condolence visit to the family of Late Chief T.K Okorotie, who died after a brief illness late last year.

The former governor and senator made this known through his official facebook handle, described the deceased as a selfless father and leader that lived a life of service to the people of the state and the Ijaw nation, whose wise counsel and prayers were so fulfilling to many.

The federal lawmaker who was accompanied by his beloved wife, elders and stakeholders of the senatorial district, urged senatorial and state leaders to support the efforts of the state government in organizing a befitting burial for the deceased that he truly deserves.

Senator Dickson used the medium to appreciate traditional rulers, political leaders, chiefs, elders, women, youths, constituents and well-wishers for their overwhelming reception and hospitality accorded to him and his entourage in the solidarity visits to communities during the festive season.

Senator Dickson while praying for the repose of the departed soul, prayed to God to give the family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.

The statement reads: “My wife and I, in the company of some elders and stakeholders, paid a condolence visit to the family of our late leader and father, Hon. Chief T. K. Okorotie who passed recently.

“I commiserated with the family he left behind and prayed for the repose of his soul.

“He lived a life of service to our people in the Old Rivers State, Bayelsa, Niger Delta, the Ijaw nation and Nigeria as a whole.

“He was a selfless leader and father whose wise advice, counsel and prayers I benefitted from in the course of my political service, and he will be greatly missed by his family, who he dearly loved, the state and nation he served, and all of us that he led.

“By the grace of God I will be leading the senatorial delegation to pay our final respect at his burial.

“I urge the senatorial leaders and indeed all in the state, to support the effort of the government to organize, across party lines, to give our departed father and leader the befitting burial that he deserves.

“After the condolence visit, I flew back to Abuja, after three weeks of interacting with family, friends and well wishers across the state and beyond

“I seize this opportunity to thank elders, traditional rulers, chiefs, political leaders, constituents, friends and well wishers for their outpouring of love and support during the festive season, especially for the warmth, priceless gifts showered on me, and the hospitality accorded me and my delegation in the solidarity visits I made to some communities and leaders during this season.

“We pray that the new year will be better and bring good health, success and prosperity and peace for all.
