Senator Dickson Paid Condolence Visit To Chief Gbalipre Turner & Family

The Former Governor and current Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, His Excellency, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, led a high-powered delegation to pay a condolence visit to Chief Gbalipre Turner over the death and burial of his beloved wife during the week.

The Former Governor and Senator made this known through his official facebook handle, expressed his condolences on behalf of his family and the good people of the senatorial district to the family of Chief Gbalipre Turner and members of the family.

The national lawmaker who was companied by traditional leaders, political leaders, women and youth leaders from the senatorial district, stressed the great need for the condolence visit to sympathize with his friend and members of the family.

While expressing his prolonged relationship with the family of Chief Gbalipre Turner, Senator Dickson reiterated his commitment and support for the family stressing that whatever that happens to the family touches him and his family basically.

Senator Dickson stated categorically that apart from his country home in Toru-Orua, he takes Opume and Otuoke communities in Ogbia Local Government Area of the State as his homes, with special regards for Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, GCFR and Chief Gbalipre Turner as his elder brothers.

As a leader who has so much respect for traditional institutions, Senator Dickson visited the Chairman of the Council of Chiefs and other Chiefs of the Community, and participated fully in the traditional burial rites of the deceased as tradition demands.

Senator Dickson while comforting members of the family the deceased, prayed to God to grant the departed soul eternal rest, stressing that she has created an irreplaceable vacuum that will really be missed by members of the family, community, state and the Ijaw nation basically.

While wishing Chief Gbalipre Turner and members of the family of the deceased and the entire community the very best to find solace in God, Senator Dickson prayed that there should be happier occasions to celebrate friendship and brotherhood moving forward in life basically.

The statement reads: “Today, I paid a condolence visit in company of Traditional Rulers and leaders of Bayelsa West to the home of my elder brother, Chief Gbalipre Turner who lost his wife and was buried yesterday.

“I visited him and expressed my condolences on behalf of my family and the people of Bayelsa West. Outside Toru Orua, I take Opume and Otuoke as my home in Ogbia Local Government Area and whatever happens to my friends touches me and I always show support. The Turner family is part of my family in Opume and I have always identified with them. As I stated in my condolence letter, I stand with him and his family in this period of mourning. I condole with him and the children and all the members of the family.

“I visited the chairman council of Chiefs and other chiefs of the community and participated in the traditional burial rites on behalf of my family we pray God to grant her soul eternal rest and comfort the family that she left behind. I wish the Turner family and the entire Opume community well and pray that we should have happier occasions to celebrate friendship and brotherhood.
