Dickson Attends Fmr Deputy Gov, Ebebi Father’s Funeral
Former Governor of Bayelsa State and Senator representing Bayelsa West Senatorial District, Senator Henry Seriake Dickson, attended the funeral of His Royal Highness, Late Chief Simon Micah Ebebi, the Alei of Aleibiri at Aleibiri Community.
The former Governor and Senator made this known through his official facebook handle, described the deceased as a good, peaceful and honorable man, leader, father, traditional ruler and elder statesman who lived a good life on planet earth.
The deceased, Late Chief Simon Micah Ebebi is the father of a former Deputy Governor of Bayelsa State, Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, who served as Speaker of the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, and subsequently, Deputy Governor.
Senator Dickson as a member of Late Chief Simon Ebebi’s Council of Chiefs, described his reign as the Alei of Aleibiri, as a peaceful and fruitful one whose leadership strides is a good record for other traditional rulers to emulate impressively.
He said the deceased lived up to a ripe age of 95 years, which is worthy of celebration, adding that his lifetime and reign as Alei of Aleibiri, he witnessed his son become a speaker of the state assembly and deputy governor of Bayelsa state.
Senator Dickson sympathizing with Chief Peremobowei Ebebi, the entire Ebebi family, Aleibiri community, Ekeremor Local Government Area and Bayelsa West over the demise of the Late Highness, prayed to God to grant the departed soul eternal rest.
The statement read in parts: “Yesterday, my delegation and I attended the funeral of His Royal Highness, Late Chief Simon Micah Ebebi, the Alei of Aleibiri and the father of a former Deputy governor of Bayelsa State, His Excellency, Chief Peremobowei Ebebi, in Aleibiri community.
“As I said in my speech, I am a member of his council of chiefs. The Alei lead a good life. He was a good, peaceful and honorable man, a good father, traditional ruler and elder to our people.
“His reign was a peaceful and fruitful one, and his leadership strides is a fine model for other traditional rulers to emulate.
“He lived up to a ripe age of 94 years that is worthy of celebration. In his lifetime and his reign, he witnessed his son become the speaker and Deputy Governor of our dear state.
“I condoled with his son, my elder brother, Chief Peremobowei Ebebi, the entire Ebebi family, Aleibiri community, Ekeremor Local Government and the people Bayelsa West over his passing.
“I also thanked all who came from far and near to celebrate with the Ebebi family, and prayed to God to grant them safe journey back home.
